Youth Arts Producer
Strike A Light are seeking a creative, dynamic Youth Arts Producer to join our team.
Our vision is that Gloucester is a city of vibrant culture for all and we see youth arts and participation as key to this. We are a fast growing charity, responding to new ideas and trying different ways of working. We programme two festivals of nationally renowned contemporary performance per year, offer youth residencies and classes and support artists to produce new work.
We are looking for someone to coordinate and develop our participation offer and work with young audiences. Ideally you will be passionate about young people’s access to the arts, be motivated by creative ideas and have a healthy love of organisation.
The role can be tailored to some extent to suit the skillset of the post-holder and there is plenty of scope to develop the participation programme, to seek out new opportunities and have creative input into the direction of the participation strand. This development could also include producing work for or with young people.
The role is offered on a freelance basis equivalent to £20,000-£23,000 FTE depending on experience. We anticipate that this role will equate to approximately 2 days per week. The post is initially offered on a fixed term basis until end of December 2017 at which point the contract will be reviewed.
We are committed to creating a team which is representative of the diverse communities we work with and to bringing together those with a variety of skills and experiences, to help shape what we do and how we work. We are particularly keen to hear from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates.
