Are you thinking about entering the Roundhouse 2019 Poetry Slam? Are you a performer, poet, writer, rapper, MC or spoken word artist from Gloucester or the surrounding areas?

This year the Roundhouse will be holding a Poetry Slam heat at the Gloucester Guildhall on May 2nd. In advance, we are offering workshops with award winning poets Deanna Rodger and Yomi Sode.

Come to perfect your performance technique and style with Deanna Rodger and Yomi Sode.

Deanna Rodger is an international writer, performer and facilitator. Currently the third recipient of the Kevin Elyot Award at University of Bristol’s Theatre Collection. She co-curates two leading spoken word events: Chill Pill and Come Rhyme With Me and is on the board of Safe Ground.

Yomi Sode is a Nigerian British writer, performer and facilitator who has worked both nationally and internationally. Shortlisted for a Jerwood Compton 2017 Poetry Fellowship, his show Coat was at Strike A Light Festival in Autumn 2018 and has been programmed at the Southbank Centre and Roundhouse to sold-out audiences; it was recently published by Oberon. His writing has appeared in Rialto Magazine, Bare lit and 10: Poets of the New Generation.
