‘Circumstances are beyond human control, but our conduct is in our own power.’ – Benjamin Disraeli

The power of dance can unify. Through physical demonstration we create different senses; fear, lust, excitement and a generosity. Through movement, dancers convey the concept of control, authority and the abuse of power.

How do we follow authority? Are we leaders, followers or people of power?

Commissioned by The BENCH (a programme created by 2Faced Dance Company to address gender equality in dance), Alleyne Dance choreographed this work-in-progress performance of a new outdoor work which will premiere and tour the UK in 2020.
