A chance encounter between two acrobats: a frustrated lover and a jilted dreamer. This is the story of two hearts making sense of imperfection.

The Knot is the invisible string that connects two people. Sometimes strong, sometimes just about to break, it is the complex yet simple bond that we juggle with our whole lives.

Funny and heart breaking, Knot reveals the raw underbelly of Nikki & JD’s relationship with an effortless balance between spectacle and intimacy.

For two such muscularly strong performers, Nikki Rummer and Jean-Daniel Brousse convey an aching vulnerability. … Le Lien [Knot] is breath-taking in every way.
– Josephine Leask

Like all good stories about relationships, [Knot] is equally funny and heart breaking. A rare treat to see acrobatic prowess mixed with soulfulness.
– Natalia Kinsey

Knot was developed in collaboration with rising star Ben Duke of Lost Dog Dance and with support from the Jerwood Choreographic Research Project.  It first premiered at The Place, London, as part of the 2016 Resolution festival and has benefitted from residencies and financial support from Déda, No Fit State, Jacksons Lane, Warwick Arts Centre and DanceEast.

Nikki & JD are an acrobatic duo with a unique blend of skills in hand-to-hand, gymnastics and contemporary dance and were finalists in Underbelly’s 2015 Circus Maximus competition and represented at the 2015 CANVAS Showcase.
