Early Years Dance & Play Practitioner Commission

Create Gloucestershire (CG) and Strike A Light (SAL) are looking to commission an Early Years Dance & Play Practitioner to deliver a pilot programme of 10 weekly workshops as part of the Whole Schools Health and Emotional Wellbeing Project. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a project that is making a significant difference to the lives of children and young people in Gloucester.

Background to the project

Create Gloucestershire is running a test in 4-5 pilot schools in Gloucester over 2 years, of a creative based and whole school approach to promote social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people. This is a prevention focused pilot for mental health to test a wider system and partnership approach. The pilots are co-produced in partnership with pupils, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, governors, parents, VCSE groups and health services. The partnership group consists of Create Gloucestershire (CG), Strike A Light (SAL), Rise Youth Dance, Create Studios and Art Shape Ltd.

Terms of contract

A Contractor agreement will be offered on a freelance basis to include the following terms:

This is a fixed term commission for a period of 10 weeks running from end of April – July 2019.

Fee: £1200 to include travel, expenses and DBS check (if needed). The fee will be for approximately 10 half days. Invoices for days worked can be submitted at the end of each calendar month and will be paid within 28 days, as per contractor agreement.

Hours: Dance & Play sessions will take place in a Gloucester Infant School on a day and time to be agreed with the suitable candidate. (School availability at present for delivery is afternoons on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday).

The Early Years Dance & Play Practitioner will be responsible for their own tax and national insurance contributions. Advice can be provided on how to become self-employed, if required.
