Fully booked: Call Out for Dancers


Four day residency and performance opportunity for young dancers aged 13-25 to perform alongside Avant Garde Dance in Fagin’s Twist.

This is a call out for up to 20 passionate and enthusiastic young Gloucester performers to join Avant Garde Dance Company in Fagin’s Twist, a re-imagining of a Dicken’s classic.

You will become part of the cast with the opportunity to dance alongside professional dancers and experience the demands of rehearsing and performing to a live public audience.

Who can apply?

If you are between the ages of 13 and 25 and have previous dance experience then you can apply.

Who are Avant Garde?

 Avant Garde Dance are a London based company pushing the boundaries of hip-hop and contemporary dance. Their dynamic performances have musicality at their core and explore a myriad of styles, themes and media. Their mantra is ‘Innovate Never Replicate’.
Led by Artistic Director Tony Adigun they are committed to producing artistic work that is entertaining and challenging.

Fagin’s Twist is co-produced and commissioned by The Place. Commissioned by Dance East, East London Dance and Pavilion Dance South West. Supported by Arts Council England.

How much does it cost?

It’s only £10.

It’s really important to us that finance is no barrier to anyone. If £10 is a problem and you want to participate, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

When do I need to be available?

Rehearsals will take place on:

Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 October and

Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 October


11am – 5pm, Oxstalls Campus, University of Gloucestershire, GL2 9HW.

You need to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the session to warm up.

You must be available for rehearsal and performance on Monday 17 October from 4:00pm at the Gloucester Guildhall, GL1 1NS.
